Does anybody know where I might get one? The screw hole that holds the valve cover on is busted out, looks as if it stripped and the p-o put a larger bolt in and broke the side out. Im sure I could fix it and re-tap it but just wondering if a new or used one is available.

Those parts are matched to the head - line bored. You can't purchase them because of this. It's possible that a used one from a different engine may work, but no guarantee on that. Best option is to fix your old ones if at all possible.Ed

Yep, it's aluminum.
Back to your original question: it a cam bearing cap.
As Nessism mentioned, it is matched to your cylinder head. They are attached to the head at the factory, then the boring machine comes in from the side to bore them out to the correct size. (That's why the half-moons are necessary on the ends.) Another one might work, but the size or alignment might be just a little bit off and will end up destroying your cam.

Bringing up my old thread here but Im going to have to try a used cam cap. This one is broken into two separate pieces. The PO had jammed a bigger bolt down in there and split it apart.
I remember reading someone who had some and had no issues with using used ones before. Billy Ricks maybe.... but Im not for sure who it was---Eric
