I'm going to start rebuilding a 16v 750 engine soon....really.....I promise.....
Anyway, this particular engine had, what I assume to be, a Barnett clutch pack in it. It was fine after the engine got warmed up, before that, it was next to impossible to get the thing into gear and shift. So, I want to replace it with the rebuild. I've searched part numbers, and it appears that the clutch fibers and plates for this engine are the same for the GS 400 up through the GS850, except for the GS450, for some reason. Since the fibers and plates are pretty tough, I'm going to take a chance and find a set on ebay or somewhere.
Does this jive with what everyone else has experienced ?
