Clutch problem
Hi all, I have rebuilt the engine on my GS850 and today went to start itup. The engine is running nice and strong now however the clutch wouldn't work. The cable is nicely oiled, the lever is very difficult to pull, I put the bike in gear but when I pulled the clutch in it had no impact the wheel kept turning. I did have the clutch out to use in another engine initially before rebuilding this engine. I did put the clutch back in as it came out, I think, not sure what might be wrong. All help much appreciated. ThanksTags: None

Sounds like you assembled the clutch wrong. Hard for us to tell you what's wrong so I'd start by taking it back apart and inspect everything carefully.Ed
To measure is to know.

Yeah guess I'm going to have to pull it apart again. I did notice that the thrust peice was very loose when I took the clutch cover off again, I could waggle it about.
