Canadian Katana 750 question.
Seems that since my bike(82 GS 750 SD) wasen't availablein the US in '82, it doesen't show up in any of the US based fische cards or parts books. For the most part that's not a problem, just order 1000S stuff, but I'm not sure about the clutch. It would make life easy if 750S clutch parts were the same as 1000S. Aside from not being sure of what models would interchange, I've never done a clutch before, and am wondering what parts to order.Just fiber plates?Springs, either OEM or aftermarket heavy duty? Any seals or bearings that should be replaced as preventive maintance?I"d like to do this only once, so any advice on part #'s or what to look out for would be appreaciated.Tags: None

One of our U.S. members (smokinpancake) has a Canadian pop-up Kat, and will probably have the manual or compatibility info. you need. As mentioned, it probably shares more parts with the '83 GS700/750, than a 1000S.
Best to inspect the clutch, before ordering parts, IMHO. Usually, the fibre plates are within their service limits, in terms of measured thickness. The culprit could be worn springs (go with OEM), and smooth steel plates, if slippage is the problem. At 50,000 km last season, I started getting some slippage at high rpm, and the fibres turned out to be barely worn, when I measured them with a mic. New OEM springs, and scuffing the steels with some coarse sandpaper did the trick.'82 GS1100E

Thanks for the link, nastyjones, was able to use it to get to Barnetts site where I found out all 77-82 750's use the same plates and springs.83's use same plates but different springs. So when the partsman says,"There's no listing for an 82 750 katana.", I won't be stumped. Now I'm just waiting on new clutch and stator cover gaskets. Thanks also to Mysuzyq for the tip about new springs and scuffing the driven plates,it's nice to know that it could be as simple that. We'll see.

He's looking for 82 stuff. My pop up is an 84, which shares the 83/85 750/700 engine. Of which nothing (except maybe plates) is compatible to pre-83 stuff.
