    Cody, you don't have to switch cases as has been stated by someone else on this post. But you will have to split the cases to fit the kick starter mechanism. Anyway if you like the clean, mean look, you can just push start the bike in 2nd gear. If you go back to points and coils that will eliminate the black box, CDI, Igniter, whatever. Also your starter relay can come out from under the other sidecover. The early 550s only had one inline fuse that can be hidden anywhere. When you pull all the stuff (igniter, trigger system, associated wiring, coils, etc) you can just send it to me here in OZ so I can upgrade from points to electronic.
