    Help!!! Gs1100l problems

The number one cylinder runs very lean. It is to the point the exhaust pipe glows bright red. The only change is that I changed the mufflers. The other cylinders run fine. What gives?

Did you rejet the carbs to accommodated the new mufflers? Is the airbox still installed? Are the carbs clean and the tank rust free?

      You changed the mufflers.
Now change the jetting to make it work.

The mufflers are stock replacements. tank is clean and so are the carbs. It does have a stock airbox. Cylinders two, three, four have no problems. maybe a clogged main jet?

Something to do with the carb must be at fault. Either too rich or too lean, I'm not sure which.

BTW, what kind of mufflers did you get? Most aftermarket mufflers are more free flowing than stock.

How to you know the carbs were ever jetted properly for those pipes? They flow more than stock which will make the jetting lean. Fortunately, with the stock airbox installed it might be fairly close but still...

The one red pipe is most likely a maintenance issue as already discussed. The jetting taken on a whole is a different concern...which obviously isn't a concern for you. Sorry I mentioned it.

Thanks for the help. I am going back into that carb to look for trash.
