Coming out of gear, under hard acceleration?

As long as there is freeplay at the clutch lever the cable won't be causing the problem.

It's very common for the clutch springs to get tired. Also, the clutch plates get hard after a bunch of years so you may have to change the fibers. The springs are easier and cheaper to change so I'd try that first.

UPDATE: I believe the problem is fixed!
(i feel kinda stupid though...)

I re-routed the cable and tweaked the adjuster nut, the whole clutch assembly feels tighter and better now.

I took her out and rode it like I stole it, no slippage or anything.

Always nice when it's something simple. Hope that does it for you! I'm betting the springs work if that's not enough.
