    Throttle cable issue

Bought an 80 gs750. Got it running and then Swapped stock handlebars for a set of super bike bars from motorcycle recyclers. I'm putting it back together and noticed:

    1. A tab in the throttle assembly is filed down and now the whole Assembly turns even when tight down.
    2. The throttle adjustments are all backed all the way down and I still need 1/4 inch more cable for the throttle to be completely closed.

How can I get my throttle assembly to not turn?
Do a need a new cable or can I shorten the housing?

That tab you filed down locks the throttle assembly in place on the handlebars as it fits into a hole on the underneath side of the bars. You may want to fashion something to keep it in place now.

You might want to look at the routing of your cable or if maybe you have too short of cables for those bars.
