Muffler Packing Keeps Burning up!
SO i tried putting hte baffle back in my exhaust and within a few hours theres no more fiberglass packing! am i using the wrong stuff? its yellow maybe the pink stuff will last longer... btw i just grabbed it out of my wall. Is there special muffler packing that doesnt burn up?John 3:16Tags: None

I have good result with FMF four stroke packing.
Cheap and better than insulation stuff.

I've used steel wool in the past. I haven't tried it yet, but you can buy fiberglass mat used in boat and auto body repair. It's basically fiberglass threads woven together to form a sheet. I noticed that's basically what is used on my VH pipe before the thick padding.

I use stove pipe seal. It's basically fireproof rope and you buy in the hardware store by the foot. Maybe not the best sound absorption but it's durable and knocks the sound down enough to take the edge off.
