    Chain lube

What weight oil do I use for the chain? Thanks

The Suzuki service manual calls for 90 weight gear oil. If you don't have a manual to refer to you can download one for free here... http://members.dslextreme.com/users/bikecliff/

Opinions about chain lube are as numerous and strongly held as those about engine oil, and if you search this forum you'll find lots of threads on the topic. Although gear oil lubricates very well, some people prefer a dry, wax-based lube such as DuPont All-Purpose Lube with Teflon.

Chain wax won't do much good on a non o-ring chain.

That bike came from the factory with an o-ring chain, and should still have one.

My thumb worked as lube for my chain. I wouldn't recommend it though cause sometimes you need more grip than that.
