8v top end swap question

will the pistons, jug, and head off an 8v 850 shafty drop into/onto my 77' 750 case?

I am talking to elevatorman71 about his parts and just want to make sure they will fit befor I buy anything.

If I remember correctly, the jugs from a '79 will bolt on with no work, but '80 and newer will need some machining.

Not sure just where or how much, and I just might be wrong.

Also, if you use '80 and up head, you will also need the CV carbs that go with it.

My 850 cylinders (of unknown year) hit the inside of the cases with about 10mm to go. It was pretty close; I only had to remove a few mls to make them fit. I stuffed rags in the cases and smeared a bit of grease around to try and catch the aluminium chips. Some smaller pieces got through and showed up in the filter which I changed early (50kms) for this reason.

If I did it again I probably would pulll the sump cover and flush it through with kero.

The photo below shows what I removed. I had to do this on both sides of the outside holes of the cases.

It's nor a big deal compared to the time and effort of the overall project.
