need help, splitting lower case
I have a 1982 1100e. Have the motor apart, trying to split the lower case to get at my crank. The clutch basket is tucked behind part of the case, so I can't pull it out. Looking at the clutch looks like I have a brace behind the clutch basket held in by screws. Do I need to get the screws out? Am I missing something does the clutch come out without the case open? Thanks for any info.Tags: None

You have to pull out the clutch basket inner bearing and spacer. There are threaded holes so you can stick a screw into the spacer and pull it out. When you do this support the basket or it will fall down and bang around. With the spacer out you can then remove the basket from the engine cases.
