Installing JE 1168 kit
Going on my 1980 gs1100 16v. Everything else is stock. Do I need bigger carbs, just a rejet, or nothing at all. Any suggestions needed and appreciated. Carbs were adjusted perfectly for the 1074. Perfect idle, nice tan colored plugs and no flat spots.Tags: None

Hi,
I'm not a "go fast" parts expert. But since everything else is stock, airbox, exhaust, etc, then I can't see you needing much in the way of carb adjustments. But use your common sense, check the plugs (plug chops) and adjust accordingly.
Those parts sure do look nice.
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff

If you are running them with stock pipes and airbox, I would expect mondo low end torque. Maybe a size or two on the main, and needle adjustment, you have adjustable Canadian needles, right?

I do have adjustable needles. I'm thinking I'll go up 1 size on the main and raise the needles 1 notch and see how it works. Thanks to all that responded. FWIW, I made no changes to the carbs when I put the 850 top end on my 750 and it runs like a champ.Last edited by Guest; 01-19-2012, 11:49 AM.
