    1985 gs1150 errr 1100?

i was wondering why my engine had the rectangle covers on the side as seeing every pic of this bike had a smooth valve cover, ima dolt i guess.so i just looked at the displacement stamp and it says 1074,i have a 1100 engine in my 1150 omg i am so ticked,so now the question is are my carbs bs36 or 34's how do i tell without measuring, next what year would this engine be?how do i date it? and omg the miles are untold, this explains the 110 air jets in it,i wanna scream!!!oh well its styill a nice bike getting a paint job this month and goin thru the carbs anyway do all the suggested maintenance, but i never sell it as original and i dont want to anyhow

    Later GS(X)?

The engines changed later in the GS range on the 1100's. Most were 1074cc but they did do a GS(X)1100EF, first of the true mono shocks that ran an 1150cc engine.

Picture of you bike would also help people identify it.
