    clutch cushion

    How important is that little round rubber cushion, # 31 in the pic. Mine was folded over and hardened that way. I'mm hoping I can leave it out.

            It's a little rubber nub that fits into a hole in the back of the clutch hub. It contacts the oil pump gear and presumably keeps it from rattling. On the 1000 clutches I've seen the nub were either worn down or missing. I doubt there would be any issues if it was left out.
