Took it apart tonight. Nut was nice and tight. Used an impact gun to get it off. (don't have a fancy home made tool to hold the inner basket. Put a ratchet on the tranny output flange nut and an impact gun on the basket nut. Couldn't get it off by hand.)

What part usually wears out? The outer basket bearing bore, the bearing or the inner race? The outer basket seems to "rock" on the bearing. The inner race does not have any play with reguard to the splined shaft. So the only 2 surfaces left to be worn are the actual bearing or the inner bore of the outer basket.

Or a combination of both surfaces,

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.

Just "feeling around" to see if there is an inhearent issue besides the nut being loose. I can get the inner race and the bearing for a reasonable price locally but if the outer basket is the problem then ..... that would suck.......a lot
