The stock tensioner works fine for all but all out riding. Just make sure it's working properly and has fresh seals.

The manual tensioner wont fail to do it's job at the worst possible time like the stock tensioners will. Ray.

Do you have to remove the carbs to install the manual adjuster? No big deal if I have to just wondering.

It IS a lot easier if you remove the carbs. Ray.

I installed the tensioner today. Very painless and easy adjustment. I haven"t ridden it yet as I"m not finished yet, just minor things like rear turn signals and attaching the left side cover (possible dzus fastener?don"t know yet). The exhaust note does sound slightly raspyer and it idles better. Probably just my imagination. Thanks all.

Well I finished up last night and took a little run. Ran super good. My new issue is keeping the rear tire hooked up as it likes to spin more now than before. The Conti Tour used to get the job done but now it's like riding on ice. I'll replace it before it's registered next month.
