You have the CV carbs, right?

3.5 out could be a tad rich. What do the plugs tell you?

EDIT- at what throttle does it fall flat? 1/4, 1/2...?

Isn't a 130 main jet way too big?

I don't know the CV on the 550, but it seems too big.

Assuming you are dealing with stock carbs and jets, the 550 should be BS32SS, with a main jet of 92.5.

Our 650s have BS32SS and the main jet is either 97.5 or 110.

Yeah, 130 IS too big unless there is one heck of a header on there. Any evidence there were pods and a 4 into 1 system at one time?

I'd place a small wager that you don't need choke to start your bike, and you are running really rich

I drilled out the mains with a # 55 drill bit, through the 92.5's.stock carbs'.need the choke sometimes, plugs' read a liitle dark as one would expect. 1/2 throttle and then shut it off, will not rev past 5000 as it falls of.was running 92.5 but had no power-took forever to get up to speed, could not go 60mph. thks
