    Well that didn't work part2.

Well Mr. Tkent is apparently right. It does not seem to be the oil pump or perhaps I have 2 duds, which I would think is unlikely.

This morning I pulled the original and replaced it with the one I pulled yesterday from the parts bike. Absolutely no difference.

I don't know where to look next. I would think I'm back to an electrical problem but with the senders having checked out with air pressure triggering and the obvious low oil pressure out of the sender hole it doesn't add up.

I've looked over the oil flow diagram in the manual and can't pinpoint any area that has any o-rings or areas where leakage could occur.

I really don't know what to do next other than perhaps firing up the parts bike and checking how the pressure is on it.

    I am stumped guys.

If I didn't have to go to work,,,,I would come over,,,you know as a second pair of eyes...to see if we could see anything.....bloody work,,,,always gets in the way of things....

Almost sounds as if something is plugged, some passage, line, etc....does this thing have an oil cooler, what if you remove the oil filter, just for the heck of it ? just throwing out ideas.....

Did you pull the oil pan? There are all kinds of parts underneath the engine that could cause oil pressure loss.

        Thanks guys.

Ed, I did replace the 2 o-rings (8 and 29), cleaned the pick-up screen (it wasn't very dirty) and pulled and tested the pressure relief valve to ensure it was not stuck. I did not replace the crush washer however (32).

Dan, I blew out all the passages I could reach with the compressed air but nothing came loose that I could see.

One of the other guys suggested testing the OP at another location which is just under the signal generator cover. This is the location for testing pressure shown in the manual. Its a different thread than my jury rigged OP gauge so I'm off to Princess Auto to see if I can cobble up an adapter.

I guess if I can get a reading there I can prove (or disprove) whether I have pressure or not.

I'll let you know if I find something.

        Cheers,

Be careful when getting the adapter as I could swear that someone mentioned that the port that you wish to test from
has a strange thread that is similar to a U.S. thread but not quite the same.
That information, was in a recent thread.
Perhaps someone that knows more will chime in before the threads get ruined?

Thanks for pointing that out. I wasn't able to find an adapter anyway so for the time being its safe and won't be tampered with.

I went out for a 2 hour ride this afternoon to clear my head and get this problem out of my conciousness. Unfortunately, it didn't exactly work and I'm still chewing on it so to speak.

If nothing comes to me in the next few days I reckon I'll have to trailer it down to my pro-wrench and let him have a look.

This continues to be the weirdest thing I've encountered yet. I just hope there is a solution.

            Thanks all.

I am stopping by tomorrow, to have a look see.....

they say 2 heads are better than 1

              just say the word,

I am giving up on my bike for this weekend, just not in the mood, well I might get the new throttle tube and grips on, and attempt the install of the carbs

I tied up the brake levers overnight last night, front and rear, they are no longer spongy.....wooohooo, as for the shocks, I just don't know, have to open one up to look inside.....but going to make those spacers, regardless of what I find or don't find in there....LOL

I have a couple of fresh Cuban cigars, and not the store stuff, this is a private stash direct from.....Cuba.....

hope you get it sorted out....
