gs1150 cam chain
i just bought a 1984 gs1150eff that sat for 10 + years , i have it running but, is it ever a loud engine , im wondering is it the cam chain or loose valves ,stuck cam chain automatic adjuster ? if the cam chain is shot can i change it without breaking engine open ?any suggestions would be appreciated thanksTags: None

Check the valve adjustment, check the function of the cam chain tensioner, measure the cam chain for wear. Knowledge is better than guessing.
And some people using a link'ed type cam chain that can be changed without splitting the cases, but others (like Suzuki) don't.Ed
