    Jumping out of gear

I am still looking at a '84 GS1150 but now the owner fessed up that the bike will routinely jump out of 2nd gear.

Does anyone know if this is indicitive of the model and is there an easy fix ?

Most likely bent dogs. I'd stay away unless really cheap or you want to tear it apart.

Yes, second gear takes lots of abuse on rocket sleds. Always best to test it out carefully.

        Dogs are worn.

You have two options. Have the dogs re-cut or buy a decent used transmission and swap it in.

Both involve removing the motor and splitting the cases. Not really difficult, but somewhat intimidating the first time.

On my 1100E, I went with the used transmission.
