    points cover interchangeability

hi all i'm about to strip my project 1980 GS850GT engine. the bike has been down on it's right side at some point so the ignition points/pickup cover is cracked and ground away. i wonder if the 750 or 1000 share the same cover as this will open up my options for a replacement?

Yes. If you type the part number - 11381-49001 in to the website below it will list all the models that use the same part:

    79 GS1000S
    79 GS1000S (another one)
    80 GSX750
    80 GS550
    80 CB650 cafe racer
75 PC50 - the one with OHV and pedals...
75 TS100 - being ridden (suicidally) by my father

FANTASTIC! thanks i really appreciate it. handy to know it was used on many models. will scour the autojumbles. believe me this bike has seen some neglect! it will be built back original as too many GS' get the chop treatment and i saved it from getting just that!
