Use a stock MLS gasket and you should be fine. Not sure about that much head torque though.Ed
To measure is to know.

The blame falls on the crappy old pos gasket that Orient Express sent me.
Doesnt matter anyway, the bike is being parted out.

Here is a closeup picture. I think it was still firing on that cylinder, Compression test showed 120 psi on that one

Looks like a Cometic composite gasket.
I've blown a few of those before I started using copper.
Cometic even made a bad batch of 1166 gaskets and screwed up the oil pressure and drain ports. They p!ssed oil on start up.1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.

I will just say "in general", be careful of ordering head gaskets on Ebay.
I've had a few head gaskets that were "unopened NOS", then when it gets to my door, it's clearly been sitting on a greasy shelf, and got scratches on it. I even had the *******s at the post office bent the crap out of one gasket...luckily I got another one.

Anyone have any experience with the head gaskets that Z1 sells? They seem to be way too inexpensive to be very good.
Z1 GS850 head gasket
Stock gasket is now selling for over $90+shipping.http://img633.imageshack.us/img633/811/douMvs.jpg
