Rampimpin, put your bike information in your signature block please so you'll have it all the time; include the year on your bike.
Although mine is in the valve cover and not the head like yours, I would think getting yours out would be the same as mine. You'll want to have pliers on the outside pulling while at the same time using a small screwdriver or something similar pushing it out from the inside. I did that and once the rubber seal slid through, it popped right out.
Of course, I can't say for a fact it will work so please listen to the more experienced ones that have theirs like yours.Cowboy Up or Quit. - Run Free Lou and Rest in Peace

I'm not certain, but it looks like you have the same machine as me. The cable threads into the head. The tach drive assembly should slide out after removing the little retaining screw and plate. BikeCliff has a rebuild tutorial on his site. The seal/ sealband have probably failed, nothing gonna stop that bleeding except new seals.
Good Luck

I had to replace the seals on mine at one time. It was a bit difficult getting out, though once you work it past the o-ring, it popped right out.sigpicMrBill Been a GSR member on and off since April 2002
