I've has 2 quarts over of oil in my motor a couple of times... Mostly an accident when filling and ran it. Changed the oil every 2k miles so went at least that with the overage. Motor ran fine until I pulled it and swapped in the 1100. I think worst you can do is hurt your gas mileage, the wind-age of the excessive oil will be slowing the moving parts of your bike more... I can't foresee it hurting it unless you put like a gallon too much in...

I wouldn't loose sleep over 2 quarts though..

I would worry if its 2 quarts over...especially if you dont know if its because theres 2 quarts of gas in the oil or not!!!!!!!

Why do you suppose the warning to not overfill an engine is in the manuals of cars, lawn mowers, motorcycles, etc etc??

The oil needs to have a place to move to as the pistons come back down, as the crank lobes come around and displace the oil. etc etc..So, if the oil is over full, you are depriving the engine of the ability to cross level itself as it is doing its normal thing. Can blow seals out, break piston skirts, cause connector rods to bend..all sorts of bad things can happen.

You fill the oil to the Full line and not any more..period.

I agree ,my dad overfilled his truck and blew out his main seal.
Well it doesn't look like any damage was done ,nor do I think there is gas in there.
I got the bike from a guy that buys from insurance companies ,and he didn't seem to know much about bikes. I'm pretty sure it was just accidentally overfilled,but I will do some trouble shooting just in case.
