I am inquiring of the drivetrain. my utmost concern for safety.
Is it normal for a shaft to have some whine when letting off the throttle?
I drained and changed all fluids. oils were clean in the primary and secondary, engine oil dark.
After changing engine oil at low rpm I here a weird noise from the bottom of the engine, thinking starter clutch as it made a funny noise when starting it tonight.
I plan on taking everything apart, maybe backlash has to be adjusted as it has 40k on it. and check that ring thing in the rear wheel I have seen pics of. IDK
Other than that with these fat loud exhaust pipes I am going to check it has larger jets to compensate. Maybe even dyno needles. it is an aftermarket, no crossover pipe.
And of course the valve shim clearances due to mileage even tho it runs great and warms up quick, I want to know all these thing for sure myself. I like my vehicles tip top and perfect as I can get them.
What concerns me the most is the whining I hear on deceleration. as I have never owned a shafty before but I am loving the smoothness of this bike and the already installed progressives in the rear.
I get handlebar wobble at 30 mph so maybe head bearings are in order also? may as well do wheel bearings too eh?
