    Half moon seals

I am getting ready to tackle the valve adjustment on my 85 GS700ES and I am not sure whats going on with these half moon seals. I checked a parts diagram at cheepcycleparts.com and it looks like they are intergrated into the valve cover gasket. Is that true or am i getting bad info? Also it seems like realgaskets.com does not have a gasket for my model bike. Can anyone confirm any of this. I would like to have all the parts required onhand before starting the project. please advise.

Use Suzuki gaskets, you will have none of these problems.

The gasket for you bike is completely different from the earlier GS's. Most likely you can reuse the stock gasket because it's rubber, not paper. If you don't want to gamble, order up a new stock gasket. There are no half moon pieces for your bike, they are built into the gasket as you noted.

          You know where to shop?

You remember your first post a few days ago, the one where BassCliff extended his MegaWelcome?

Have you read that MegaWelcome and discovered that many of our favorite places are listed in there?

The best bets are usually Boulevard Suzuki or G&S Suzuki, but sometimes the others might beat them by a little bit.

When doing some major shopping, I will generate a spreadsheet to compare prices. If there are a couple that are close, I will also compare shipping charges.
