    Dragging clutch

Hi everybody, I need opinions on something. When I first got my 850 running, the clutch work fine. I changed the oil and filter, then the clutch is dragging only when cold. I found out from the PO that he used full synthetic oil in it. I am using dino oil. If I remove the clutch plates and cleaned them, do you all think that would help?? Thanks, Mark

I run full synthetic 5w40 in mine and get no dragging even in the coldest weather. A dino 15w40 could cause some drag at colder temperatures but I doubt it is that cold where you live. Your best bet is a synthetic or dino diesel oil. Don't use anything that is marked " energy conserving".

What weight oil are you using?

I'm using Castrol 10W40. But when I change oil again, I'm going to Rotella T 15W40.

How much clutch free play at the lever? If you have a lot, tighten the clutch cable. If that doesn't work, the clutch plates may be warped.
