Thanks to all the good advice I received on this site, my 1983 GS1100ED is up and running once again. It really runs great. But there is an issue.
At low RPM (under 2000) and when I shut down there is a noticeable rattle. It almost sounds like my starter gear is still spinning for a bit.
I had to replace all of the bolts over the winter, as they all sheared, leaving me with no starter.
I used Loctite red and torqued the new bolts down as tight as I could. I also used my air-gun to tighten the flywheel nut back up.
Am I going to have to go back in and check my work?
