    Engine swap, no neutral light

Swapped out the engine with a 5k mile survivor. Still don't have the carbs quite right (a thread in carbs) but the valvetrain seems to be fine but no neutral light. The other gear lights work well and I swapped the bulb with the turn signal one and still no joy. Worked fine with the old engine.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Rob

My bikes gear position indicator has a 6 wires ( 6 Speed Transmission ) running from the contact plate below the sprocket to the instrument panel. It connects via a modular plug along the spine of the frame. There is a 7th wire for what I believe must be neutral.

Maybe you forget to connect a wire? Can you pull the tank and take a look?

Sorry the magic 7th wire goes to the neutral bulb.

I think it is the green wire that is a seperate male bullet connector from the plug that connects all the gear lights.
