    Gasket Confusion

Got some confusion on gaskets I need for my re-ring project on the gs850. Gaskets in question are the base gasket, and head gasket. I have noticed a few sites have vastly different pricing and even swap the names around... I believe I have the head gasket, well 2 now. Or what I believe to be the head gasket.

Correction.... and I think I just figured it out... I have the base gasket, and need the head gasket.....

Base gasket=gasket between crank case and cyl block,

head gasket=gasket between cyl block and head....

I am officially on the short bus....

oh and.... whats your thoughts on this about half the cost of anywhere I have seen....

For base, head, and valve cover gaskets, OEM Suzuki ones are recommended. You can often get away with aftermarket for others. (Or make your own.)

I believe Athena gaskets are to be particularly avoided. I saw a picture here once where an Athena base gasket literally squished out after only a hundred or so miles.
