    chain noise

I get rear chain noise, like the chain hitting the guard on decelleration and sometimes when coasting to a stop. It I rebuilt this bike from a driveway rustbucket to a decent looking running bike. So i have new front and rear sprockets and I hade a new non-oring chain. It developed stretched-out spots so I replaced it with a good o-ring chain. It still does it. I plan on going to 530 chain next time it all wears out which will give me more clearance. I guess my question is, has anyone else had similar problems? Its just annoying and a little embarrassing going "clang, clang" coming to a stop. Its not all the time tho. Everything seems in alignment , the tension is even a little on the tight side.

check the wheel bearings and swing arm bearings for play. the rear wheel could be moving about under different throttle loads.

My GS1100E did that, most annoying, I was checking this and checking that, bending the chain guard, checking the chain tension, nothing worked
until I removed the chain guard and realized the chain was chaffing the front of the chain guard, I could see the shiny metal where it was worn clean, bent that out a little and haven't heard it since.
