Ok Freaking thing did it again this time on the side of the highway at night. i will be taking apart the petcock to see if it is malfunctioning. but it was fine on the ride to my ball game. it was on the ride home after. it seems that it could be related to not warming up the engine before taking off. after the game i fired it up ran it for 30 secs with the choke on then hit the road and was on the highway in a block 5 min later i parked on the side of the road. same thing as last time just lost all get up. just gradually lost power. held the clutch in and stalled. let it out jump started for a bit then clutch again and it died. this time i did notice that there was no sign of fuel in the vacuum line from the petcock.

I will be taking the petcock apart today to see if anything is wrong. I did pull the vacuum hose off the carbs and sucked on it and could see fuel flowing right away when it stalle out so it is/was getting fuel. but i notice the clear vacuum pipe from the carbs to the petcock is getting discoloured (clear to brown)

My bike was doing something of the same, checked the petcock, it was fine. I finally discovered it was loosing vacuum. I checked the front carb boot, there was the problem. It was getting hard and had some cracks in it. When the rubber would warm up it would break the seal and loose the vacuum thus shutting down the petcock. New boots and clamps all the way around and problem fixed.sigpicMrBill Been a GSR member on and off since April 2002

No need for an inline filter. The petcock inlet in the tank has one. I hear of many issues related to incorrect inline filters and fuel starvation.http://img633.imageshack.us/img633/811/douMvs.jpg

I just wanted to add to this, had the same problem and it was resolved by taking the inline filter out.
