    was my 850 to hot?

    riding down the highway about 65 mph, was around 95 here in missouri..so probably 115 in cali or arizona..

    anywho it felt an sounded like it was runnin on 2 cylinders...it would cut out then go away an kept doing it...so i stopped an check my fuel which was ok...sat for a min and rode it again to my destionation..

    same route home i did 70 for 28 miles even brought it to 110 a few times but it was on the verge of raining and had cooled off a good amount...not a single problem coming home

    Could be a jetting problem. That's one of the reasons I prefer to keep my bikes stock. When my bike is not running right, I know it's NOT the jetting.

      mines been jetted for my pipe...ive rode it all summer like it is but today it just acted up this one time...maybe it passed something through a carb or something silly

        Sounds like something in the fuel. I filled up once going home from the mountains and the bike started running pretty ragged. I got to a town about 40 miles from where I fueled up, got some Seafoam and dumped in, in a few miles it cleared up.

        Stuff I've done to my bike:dancing: 1100E front end with new Sonic springs, 1100E swing arm conversion with new Progressive shocks installed, 530 sprockets/chain conversion, new SS brake lines, new brake pads. New SS fasteners through out. Rebuilt carbs, new EBC clutch springs and horn installed. New paint. Motor runs strong.

          Could it be a failing wire to one of the coils? I had one break right where it enters the coil, but it gave me no warning before failing completely.

            I agree with MrBill- sounds like a little water in your gas, with the weather changing here in KY similar to MO- hot to cold snaps with the high humidity bring condensation- possibly enough to cause you the grief- gas treatment and ride on.

                Ethanol make the problem worst.. absorbs water
