Advice and/tips tricks
Going to tear into the bike to hone, re-ring, lap, and whatnot as my compression is falling and the bike has a ton of mileage. What do you folks use to keep track of all the parts when they are removed so they go back in the same spots? I've seen the trays they make for car engine rebuilding...was thinking of making something on those lines out of plastic bins....-Mark

I use the cheap clear containers from the dollar tree and mark everything with a sharpie. I need lids on everything since I kick and bang all over the place. If your doing just one project it's easy to keep together but multiple it's to easy to mix things up and forget where you left off. Ziplocks work well also.

As I hate waste, I recycle ones used in the kitchen/freezer and have a bag full of them in several sizes in the garage.

As you have most likely read here, use OEM gaskets, especially the head gasket.
The aftermarket valve stem seals & cam end 1/2 moons from Z1 work very well, and are way cheaper than stock...'85 GS550L - SOLD
