OK so clutch back together properly no leaks works great. so i have now determined that there is still a weird noise (same one). when the clutch is fully released starting from a stop. i can hear winding noise (like the machine from NASA that the astronauts test the G-Forces in) gets faster and faster all the way through first gear and second then either it i gone or i just can't hear it anymore. it seems to not do it until the bike is fully warmed up either. Any ideas?

On some of the bikes with a mechanical tach, you can hear a whine.

Wingsconsin posted a video awhile back of his 650GL doing it:

          Sound familiar?
          '83 GS650G
'83 GS550es (didn't like the colours in the 80's, but they've grown on me)

Not the same that is more of a whine. and it is continuous.

my is more like whomp, whomp, whomp that gets faster as the speed climbs.

I will try and get out tonight and try to record it somehow.
