Not sure what the spec is on your bike. They recommend going to the edge of the widest gap, because the gap will decrease with time.

Spec is .03-.08 or .09 (I forget which), but a few people said they run them high - like .010 or .011. That's not far from .013, but I don't want to cause any problems.

The published limit is .03mm - .08mm on all of the shimmed engines as far as I know, maybe the twins are different but I doubt it. A lot of us use .10mm as the upper limit. I might go .13 as a temporary fix until the right shim arrived, but not if I didn't have to and I wouldn't wind it out much with that shim in there either. I don't know if it would spit a shim from running at .13mm (probably not) but I'd rather not find out.

The clearances don't ALL go smaller with wear, mostly they do but not always.

Thanks. I'll switch it out for a slightly thicker shim tomorrow.

Bah. The local places (I tried 4) didn't have 29.5mm diameter shims for the most part. The one that did had some 2.50, some 2.60, and no 2.55 or 2.50x.
Guess I have to wait on the mail.
