    Welcome to the boards.

Sounds like either 1) your clutch cable is stretched and needs to be replaced or 2) you just need to adjust your clutch perch at the level so that the clutch lever "pulls in" more of the clutch.

Read this but be suspicious of cable fraying and stretching

This can also be caused by the ridges that get created on the outer clutch hub which results in the plates getting stuck moving in and/or out. If adjusting the cable has not effect, pull the clutch cover off and look at the out hub. IF you see the ridges like in the link below, you can remove the inner clutch hub, the clutch plates (keep them in order), and carefully file down the ridges. It's not a permanent fix but will hold you until you can find a good used clutch basket or come up with the funds for a new one.

Adjust the clutch using the method in the Suzuki service manual. Free download here...http://members.dslextreme.com/users/bikecliff/

Needless to say, check the cable for fraying before begining.

Turn IN the adjuster at both the lever and the case end. This will add a good deal of slack to the cable. Next adjust the cable at the helix mechanism. Wouldn't hurt to lube the helix before you begin.

            Good luck
