No oil pressure in head!
I just finished reassembling the Gs's engine and gave it a few cranks to ensure I have oil pressure but I got nothing. Did I miss something? Any recommendations?Tags: None

Did you remember to put oil in it?
Oil pump installed correctly?
How are you checking the pressure? Using a gauge or the idiot light?

Sorry, but once again, we have to ask ... WHAT BIKE ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT???
I realize that you are new, so let me tell you in the words of bwringer:
"although the GSR hive-mind is rather omniscient and darn near omnipotent, we are not yet clairvoyant".
In other words, we know a lot and can probably help you, but you have to give us a clue.

Sorry to all that replied, I left out the important stuff. Here it is, my problem is on my 1980 Gs750e. Yes it has fresh oil and I have a 0-60 psig glycerin filled gauge installed at the head exhaust cam shaft oil gallery plug. Thanks in advance guys.

Those motors are notorious for poor oiling, Use the search function , as I know it has been covered on this site. I believe it involves shimming the oil pump or something1984 GS1100GK newest addition to the heard

1978 GS1000E- Known as "RoadKill" , Finished :D

“Remember When in doubt use full throttle, It may not improve the situation ,but it will end the suspense ,
If it isn't going to make it faster or safer it isn't worth doing

Pretty sure the pressure gauge should be installed by removing the pressure switch from the oil filter cover. I would take the pressure reading from there. The spec for that engine is 43-78 psi @ 3000 rpm.

You won't get much if any pressure at the head until the engine is running and the rpm's are up a little.Ed
To measure is to know.

Thanks guys, I am going to continue with the reassembly process and verify oil pressure with the engine running. I will let you know what happens.
