Lots of oil out of overflow, now runs bad.

Well I was riding on the interstate today for about 45 min going somewhere around 80. My bike is geared up 3 in the rear so I was running at decently high rpm's, but I've done this before with no issues.

Anyways, all of a sudden I feel liquid splash onto my jeans and a sudden loss of power. At around 5k rpm it just plateus and doesn't want to go any higher. I pull off at the next gas station to check things out and there is just oil everywhere. Everywhere but my motor. All over the carbs and electrics. It looks like it came from the oil overflow hose. After checking and adding a quart of oil I started it up and it sounded fine, so I babied it back into town on the backroads. It was smoking blue pretty bad for a while, so I stopped again and no oil had been used (via the oil window). Again I set back out and after a while it changed to what looked like white smoke.

The bike revs to 5k rpms under load, but in neutral or pulling the clutch in it will rev higher, and the power seems to be down to about 75%. What could have/is happening? I was thinking perhaps that since the air filters were soaked with oil that is why it was smoking blue and so down on power, but after it changed to white I'm not so sure.

I've had a bad day guys, thanks to anyone still reading and can possibly help. Cheers.

Time to check petcock for correct operation! sounds like your crankcase got filled with gas which then spewed out thru vent hose on cam cover running to airbox (if you still have one). If so, your oil is likely no good, change/dump it responsibly. If will take a while to burn off gas remnants.

Do you have a compression tester? Sounds like there is a lot of blow by, so maybe something happened to a piston/rings.
