As far as I can tell, none of the surfaces are worn, nothing has been abraded or otherwise deformed, save a small ridge on the crank shaft about 3/16" past the end of the taper towards the flat of the shaft. I'm at a loss as to a next move? is the play in the big sprocket acceptable / normal?

I recently went through this whole scenario and found the bolts m8x16 (socket heads) were loose and had worn. Make sure they're tight....red loctite if you have it.
