Not oil, but i'm sure i wont be alone in suggesting a good moly based assembly lube. You have to pre lube it all.

Personally, I use oil.
Not too sure about adding anything with moly in an engine with a wet clutch.

I lightly coat my cam lobes and cam cap bearings with assembly lube.
Do not use a lot since it is bad for your clutch as Steve stated.1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.

With the shim and bucket engines there is a pocket which holds oil. A little oil on the bearing saddles and cam caps, then fill up the pocket all the way before installing the valve cover.Ed

Here what it says in the manual:
"Just before placing the camshaft on the cylinder head apply high quality molybdenum disulfide lubricant to its journals fully coating each journal with the paste taking care not to leave any dry spot. Apply engine oil to the journal bearings."
