gs 750 smoking on No2

Well ive been driving it for a few weeks and the smoke and oil from No2 cylinder has stayed the same. So ive taken it apart again. I am at a loss as to why its happening, the rings were in place and the oil wiper ring was fine. When the rings are placed in the cylinder the end gap is in specification.

Ive renewed the valve guide seal.

Is there anywhere else oil could be coming from apart from the rings or the valves.

Did you check the cylinder to see if it was actually round? Maybe sometime in the past it got hot enough to warp your cylinder bore.

Piston rings installed upside down will cause oil pumping, as will loose valve guides even with new seals. I would measure cylinder bores, ring gap, piston clearance, valve guide clearance. You did measure before you put in new parts and after to make sure you were in spec?

I'm thinking valve guide too.
On the piston you will be able to see if oil has gotten by the rings.
