cyl. base oring?

    cyl. base oring?

    i am putting my gs 850 motor back together and realized i am missing the 4 cyl. orings. that go on the bottom of the cyl. 09280-70001
    should i order some or take a chance?

    They are cheap,so order some now!

      I have removed them from every engine I have taken apart & NEVER had an issue not running them. Ray.

          Keeps oil from wicking in the crack between the liner and the cylinder casting. Think the biggest risk is a little oil weapage that could come though porosity in the casting.

            I'm with Ray. Even after putting bigger sleeves in stock blocks I have never seen one leak. Kawasaki KZ motors didn't even have them.

              I don't use them except for the first time I spent two hours digging the old ones out.
              1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.
              1985 GS1150ES stock with 85 Red E bodywork.
