What's the latest on recommended clutch fiber plates?

I know that OEM is at the top of the list of preferred clutch fiber sources. I also gather that EBC is an acceptable choice. I dug back a few years and saw that FBG "Fast by Gast" was a top contender at that time. Needless to say I am like most everyone and want OEM quality and performance at discount prices. I did not want a repeat of my electrosport r/r debacle so I thought I'd come right out and ask the question first before ordering. Both EBC and FBG are about $7.50 each cheaper per plate. Yes I have already installed new OEM springs and yes, it still slips. The cable is adjusted correctly. Rotella oil. Thanks for any input!

Im running FBG and have had good luck. They do tend to get a little grabby (swell ?) when they get hot.

FBG gets grabby as mentioned...race plates for race bikes(sliders).
OEM's can go from coast to coast on a street bike or 6 seconds @ over 200mph in the quarter.
that tell's a lot about the OEM fibers.

EBC looks like OEM but that about it....

No I don't. That's why I asked for input before ordering. No one spoke up against EBC and this recent post:

Typically, slippage can be eliminated by installing new stock springs. Sometimes the plates petrify with age and heat cycles though, and replacing them will improve the both the ease of finding neutral, and eliminate slippage.

The OEM plates are tried and true. EBC are a reasonable alternate, but don't use their springs unless you have a kung fu grip.

Bazillions of guys running EBC clutches. I've never heard any bad reviews. OEM may be better, but it's not like EBC is problematic.

There are countless threads in the archives showing that EBC plates are thinner and tend to cut/destroy clutch baskets. If you can get the search function to work, you can find dozens of examples. Stick to stock plates/steels.

Nonsense. It's the Barnett clutches that are thinner and trash the basket. Suzuki also thinned the OEM plates for '83 which had the same issue.

Ed is correct..
actually it's any fiber with steel backing rather than aluminum.
the 83 1100E/ES fibers will destroy a basket almost like extra plate barretts...
the problem with after market fibers in general is the material is different from company to company and none are even close to OEM.
one set you have to run zero free play to get neutral..
the other set you have to run heavy springs so the clutch don't slip.
i'm just saying....on a keeper bike try to come up with the extra $$ for OEM.
you'll be happier in the long run.
