Late model brake master for a 83GS1100E
After looking at some other GS pictures here I'm wondering if there is a cross reference for a later model master cylinder Bolt-on for my bike . I know the bore for double disc is 5/8 inch. Has anyone here tried one of the Chinese reproduction M/C off Ebay ?Tags: None

Master cylinders are pretty simple devices. I wouldn't be afraid of a Chinese jobby. There has been an increase in 5/8" offerings lately which is nice. For my latest project I picked up a low mileage Kawasaki EX650 (650 Ninja) master off ebay. There is a model that has a threaded mirror lug. Recent production bike = less chance for pitted bore. Something that's not easy to find in a 30+ year old GS part.

To measure is to know.

Any of the newer naked bikes will have an MC that will work and have a mirror mount.
Beware though - anything Yamaha will have a LH thread for the mirror mount....Current:
Z1300A5 Locomotive (swapped my Intruder for it), GS450 Cafe Project (might never finish it....), XT500 Commuter (I know - it's a Yamaha )
Past:
VL1500 Intruder (swapped for Z1300), ZX9R Streetfighter (lets face it - too fast....), 1984 GSX750EF, 1984 GSX1100EF (AKA GS1150)
And a bunch of other crap Yamahas....
