    1100EZ idle speed

    Suzuki and Haynes both say "950 - 1150" rpm.

    Is anybody out there able to get their '82 1100e to idle that low? Mine usually indicates about 1400, give or take. As long as it's below 1500 I'm happy.

    Has anybody even seen this bike hold a nice idle below 1,000 rpm?
    1982 GS1100E V&H "SS" exhaust, APE pods, 1150 oil cooler, 140 speedo, 99.3 rear wheel HP, black engine, '83 red

    2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.

    Below 1200 is TOO SLOW!

      Idle

      My '80 1100L idles between 750 and 1000, depending on how warmed up she is, and the temp outside. You shouldn't need to be above 1000. Uses more gas than necessary, and doesn't help when shifting into first...

        When shes warmed up, mine sits right on 1200 Rpm's~

          That's because all your bikes have big lumpy cams! (LOL!)

          Actually, mine is stock other than carbs and pipe and it likes about 1200 rpm, so I'm relieved!

            I'm thinking 1200 would be a nice idle for mine, minimum.

            I remember the manual said 900 for my '73 Kaw Z1, and that was never going to happen (at least not on mine).
