    GS 750 splitting crankcase issue

    Hi guys,

I have a quite interesting problem. I was trying to split crankcase in my 1982 GS 750.
Everything went well, till I discover that the 1st and 4th piston is rubbing the inner walls of the upper crankcase, and it’s impossible to get it out. Pistons are STD so probably the crankcase walls are thicker here. I hadn’t any problems with that, with my other engine. I can always use some kind of pin puller, take out the pistons and with the conrods exposed it will be a piece of cake.
I can also lift the whole thing: upper crankcase with the pistons, crankshaft. Put it on the table and unscrew the big end caps.
There are few options, but is anyone had a similar problem with that?
    Thanks a lot.

NO, as everyone else has a manual that is downloadable and would never leave the pistons on the rods to be damaged or get in the way. look for ure manual here please.....

Thanks guys, everything is clear to me now.
BTW - I've read the manual before splitting the engine, and obviously I've seen that they took of pistons first. I was just wondering if it's possible to do it a bit different way.
        Thanks again..

You can flip it over and take the bottom case off of the top. No need to disturb the top end at all, can leave everything from the valve cover down in place. What are you trying to fix in there?
