    flywheel puller question

    Hi again guys
I bought a flywheel puller from Motion Pro to check for a noisy starter clutch. (1983 1100e) I just found out the threaded section on the flywheel is smaller than expected. The puller is m35x1.5 as it shows all the catalogs but I measured the OD at 30 mm. I estimate the thread is a 28. I have a pitch gauge but didn't check yet. Is this correct. ...am I missing something?

    this happens a lot.
83-86 1100/1150 takes the smaller threaded puller.
80-82 1100 takes the larger threaded puller.

Please. I see 2, 28mm pullers on the Motion Pro site, the main difference is the thread protector cap thread size 12mm or 14mm.
I'm going to run out to the garage and check that right now

looks like it is either a 30mm or 35 mm . and from what blowerbike said sounds like 30 mm is for 83 1100E and the 35mm for 82 1100E , is this right ???

Ok Thanks a million. I'll order a 28mm with a 14mm thread protector. What could possibly go wrong?

I going to have to start a thread in the project forum solely for your amusement. Everything I touch on this bike needs attention.

                      hey
i'm getting almost 30mm od on the rotor thread.
                      so do they offer a 28mm or a 30mm?

somebody call ray and see..he is west coast time.
i know what i know but the mm on the threads was something i never needed to know having both factory pullers.
