    Yoshimura cam markings

Where would Yoshimura cams for an 83 Gs1100 be marked if at all ? This motor I have has a ported head stamped Yoshimura and Im not sure if it has the cams too. The exhaust cam does have a tach gear on it but it has an electronic tach on it

    Adjustable sprockets?

Might have part # under sprocket on the flat face under the sprocket.

Ill take another look tomorrow. Cam sprockets don't appear to have elongated holes in them. Did Suzuki continue to use cams with the tach drive gear on electronic tach motors ? Intake cams have pits on several of the lobes also.

All of the 83 1100esd (electronic tach)cams were same as ed with exhaust ca m gear. On 1150 they mostly all have no gear , but Iirc ray said some 1150 still had a gear despite the electro tach.

I was going to say measure the lobes but then we will have to debate the rocker ratio.

Im just curious anyway, its not that important, they will stay in there anyway. Theres some pitting on some lobes that look like they came that way, I don't see any sign of galling from it. If I an get a micrometer or some calipers in there Ill see what the lobes measure. Ive got to get one of those rocker arm adjusting tools also

Yeah take measurements on the cams and compare to the listings on the yosh website. That is the easiest way to do it, aside from finding the POPY markings.

I came up with a lobe measurement of 1.372 or 34.85 mm with my cheapo dial calipers. The intake cam has R1 & 455 marked on it. The exhaust cam has R2 & nothing else on. I set them all at .005, they had maybe .002 at the most. I just ground a notch in an old short screw driver and turned the square adjuster with it

                  stock cam.

sprocket face should be marked with 470.
